In Memory of Emerald

Emerald, aka “Miss Emerald Diamond” was a flashy, Bay Tobiano American Paint Horse born on February 5, 2007. She was the Daughter of Lynda and the Brother of Donegal. Emerald was just like her Mother Lynda, both in appearance and in personality. She was timid around new people, but once she got to know you she became sweet and trusting. Emerald loved being with her people and always looked forward to being groomed and petted.

On August 21, 2020, we had to say goodbye. Emerald became infected with EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis) a protozoa that attacks the brain and spinal cord causing Emerald to have significant neurological symptoms. Our team worked tirelessly to help her recover, but it was clear she was going to continue to struggle and we could not let her suffer. We are so grateful for Emerald’s work and support of our Participants, but it was time for her to rest. Our sweet Horse is now running and grazing over the Rainbow Bridge in peaceful pastures free of struggles with Donegal, Gus, Rose, and Clover.
