We will provide you with routine information on how your donation has contributed to this important cause including updates on the Horses, Activities and improvements made to the facility. Support Program Operations
Buy any of the items below, several of each item are needed. We will acknowledge your contribution on the donation wall at our facility and where possible, put your name on the item.
Lead Ropes are important for leading horses during training and sessions. They need to be replaced often. Click button to buy a Lead Rope.
Various types of Halters (rope, cloth, leather) are used during training and sessions. Horses also love to remove their halters often breaking or tearing them. Halters need to be replaced frequently. Click button to buy a Halter.
Training Sticks are used to instruct, guide, and direct a Horse (never hit). Click button to buy a Training Stick.
Different types of Bridles are used during training and riding (biteless and snaffle). Each session requires specific equipment for the Horse and Participant. Horses also have a preference for the type of Bridle used. Click button to buy a Bridle.
Blocker Tie Rings allow Horses to move freely and ensure their safety when being tied for grooming or other activities. Click button to buy a Blocker Tie Ring.
The use of Surcingle Pads help to ensure the Rider learns balance and stability and feels the warmth of the horse before using a saddle. Click button to buy a Surcingle Pad.
Mounting Blocks are used to assist Riders in mounting a Horse. Click button to buy a Mounting Block.
Safety standards for horseback riding Helmets are set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) certifies that the safety criteria have been met. Shamrock Reins will adhere to all safety and standards established by PATH Intl. including the use of only ASTM-SEI Helmets. Each Participant will need to be fitted for a Helmet and will be given a Helmet as their own if they continue through the curriculum. Click button to buy a Helmet for a Hero or family member.
Various types of saddles in different sizes are required (English, Western, Australian). Click button to buy a Saddle.
Horses need specialized training as therapy Horses requiring patience and encouragement. Click button to provide a day of training for a Horse.
Weekly sessions for Participants occur over an 8 week period. Each weekly session requires a Certified Instructor for the session and multiple Volunteers for each Participant. Various types of equipment will also be needed. Click button to buy one Weekly Session for a Participant.
